Fulbright Distinguished Award in Teaching
In November 2014 I applied for a Fulbright Distinguished Award in Teaching and in April 2015 I found out I was selected for the program. From January to June 2016 I lived in Jyvaskyla, Finland to learn about special education. While there I visited 23 schools, presented about American education and conducted research. At the end of my time in Finland I produced a capstone project that summarized my experiences. To learn more about this program you can go to the Fulbright Distinguished Award in Teaching Program website. I was based at the Niilo Maki Institute, a multidisciplinary research center that does work on learning disabilities.
